But who never know? Homosexuals are often represented as very sophisticated people, wearing very fashionable clothes, but these clichés are now more or less over, and we all know that the gay community is as diversified as the rest of the population. So let’s investigate the gay side of the cowboys ‘ life.
The success of the movie Brokeback Mountain, directed by Ang Lee was an important step toward the acceptance that some of the rude cowboys can fall in love with a same sex partner. The storyline is based on the short story by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annie Proulx, Brokeback Mountain tells the story of two young men – a ranch-hand and a rodeo cowboy – who meet in the summer of 1963, and unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection, one whose complications, joys, and tragedies provide a testament to the endurance and power of love.
